Joris Schoonis

Managing Director of Google Cloud Benelux

Joris Schoonis, Managing Director of Google Cloud Benelux, has broad experience in leadership in the technology industry. Schoonis brings over twenty years of experience leading sales, go-to-market operations and developing new markets to drive customer success and delivering triple digit growth.
Prior to joining Google Cloud, he was Vice President EMEA at MessageBird. For a decade Joris has been an integral part of Salesforce becoming the number one CRM player, during which time he was overseeing pan-european leadership roles. His experience spans multiple market segments, including large organizations and emerging markets, as well as marketing strategy, transforming customer journeys and cloud computing.
Joris holds a Msc of Economics & Information Technology from Tilburg University. He lives in Amsterdam, with his wife Anna and their two children.

Today, Google Cloud announced the appointment of Joris Schoonis as the company’s Benelux Country Manager. Joris will be responsible for leading the company’s ongoing development of its go-to-market functions across Benelux.

Joris will also spearhead and scale Google Cloud’s sales strategy in the region, a market which has seen a number of recent high-profile customer and partnership deals such as ASML, Randstad and Unilever to name a few.  

Joris is an accomplished industry leader with 20 years of experience in building sales teams. He joins Google Cloud from MessageBird, where he served as Vice President EMEA. He also held several leadership roles at Oracle and Salesforce. His experience spans multiple market segments, including enterprise businesses and emerging markets.  Joris’ track record will also help further business growth, where he will focus both on expanding the local partner ecosystem and helping customers in their digital transformation journey. 

Joris’s appointment follows a number of recent new hires and echoes the company's plans to bolster its EMEA sales teams to target enterprise customers across a number of key verticals.
