Co-founder & CEO, SATLANTIS
Juan Tomás Hernani is co-founder and CEO of SATLANTIS since 2014, a leading NewSpace Company for Earth and Universe Observation Technologies and End-to-End Solutions for Small Satellites.
He is an Industrial Engineer (Engineering School of Bilbao), Economist (Business Administration - Universidad del País Vasco), and has a Master of Science/Advanced Manufacturing (Cranfield Institute of Technology). He is invited professor of Innovation management at the Deusto Business School and the Warrington School of Business (UF).
He has 30 years of experience across several economic sectors, both in top management of private companies and in highly ranked positions in public administration. He has been President or Director General (CEO) in large industrial groups, playing a leading role as entrepreneur and investor in SMEs, with high exposure to internationalization, technology and innovation.
He has been the former Viceminister for Innovation within Spain's Ministry of Science and Innovation, President of the Spanish Innovation Bank (CDTI), President of the Genome Foundation and the Vice-President of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) and has worked in several missions for the European Commission and since 2021 he is President of YEESS - Young European Enterprises Syndicate for Space.
