Joe Samuel

Vice President, Head of Processor Partnerships for the Europe and CEMEA regions, Visa

Mr. Samuel is Vice President/Head of Processor Partnerships for the Europe and CEMEA regions at Visa.  In this capacity, he leads business development teams focused on establishing formal partnerships with the 3rd party issuer processor community to enable and deliver innovation to issuers, and to drive relevant, mutual growth opportunities.
Although he has been with Visa for over five years, he relocated from the U.S. nearly 18 months ago to launch this newly formed position, based in Europe.  Prior to this role, he was Vice President of Processor Partnerships in Visa’s U.S. business, where he led business development and relationship management across a portfolio of processors, issuers, and real time payments networks.
Before joining Visa, Mr. Samuel worked for over a decade at First Data Corporation - a global payments technology company (recently acquired by Fiserv) where he served in senior management, as global head of public affairs.  In addition, he co-led a cross-functional team that re-defined the company’s U.S. Go-To-Market strategy in response to a major change in the nation’s regulatory environment.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Samuel managed business development and channel sales for a tech start-up in the U.S.  Prior to that, he worked in the U.S. government, primarily in the United States Congress in Washington, DC.
Mr. Samuel resides in London with his wife and son.
