Chief Digital Officer, Wema Bank
Olusegun Adeniyi is currently the Chief Digital Officer for Wema Bank Plc. He is active and passionate about developing the Tech ecosystem within Africa, providing an enabling environment for nurturing and mentoring innovators and ideators, and a focus on building “local global” businesses out of Africa leveraging on the strength of strategic partners and collaborations. He is a trained Software Engineer and Business Manager, possessing a 1st degree in Software Engineering from the University of Central England in Birmingham, and an MBA from University of Warwick.
In addition to working with Global Software providers and Telecoms operators in every phase of the Software Development Life Cycle, he brings a strong, rare and unique balance of Commercial and Technical skills required to excel in businesses with challenges around resource productivity/skill-sets and team dynamics; as well as, extensive knowledge and experience from providing advisory and consulting to various global investors on deciding on investments and maximising their return on investments for their investments in IT & Technology businesses.
Prior to joining Wema Bank, Olusegun Adeniyi was Head of Africa Fintech Foundry, Access Bank Plc, where he drove a series of Technology partnerships across a number of industry segments, as well as led delivery of a number of innovative solutions to lead transformation to digital bank and adopt a new wave of customers. His previous experiences are in Consulting, and with Telecoms OEMs and Software companies like Castellum Consulting, Rancard, Oracle, Nokia and IBM.
