Dr. Emilia Tantar

Dr. Emilia Tantar leads the artificial intelligence (AI) efforts of PwC Luxembourg. She is also the co-founder of Black Swan LUX S.A., which created SafeLiveApp. There, she acted as COO (2015-2017), specialising in AI on the edge. Emilia has over 15 years’ experience delivering artificial intelligence to the business market. She founded and co-chairs the International Conference Series “EVOLVE- A bridge between probability, set oriented numerics and evolutionary computation” aiming to promote a common vocabulary for artificial intelligence across fields of study and bring powerful research results to concrete, impactful use cases. This was launched in 2009. Prestigious research institutions in Beijing, Mexico, Bordeaux and Leiden – e.g. INRIA and CINVESTAV-IPN – have hosted the conference in the past. She has edited 7 volumes in Springer and has authored more than 20 journal papers and scientific articles.
Emilia initiated and developed international partnerships between leading international research institutes (INRIA, CWI, University of Luxembourg, CINVESTAV, etc.), universities and companies in the areas of big data, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. She acts as an expert for the European Commission in the area of artificial intelligence, hosting panel discussions on the topic and shaping policies.
