Professor Radu State
Prof. Dr. Radu State Head of the Service and Data Management (SEDAN) Research Group at SnT, University of Luxembourg
Prof. Dr. Radu State joined the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability, and Trust (SnT) at the University of Luxembourg in 2016. His SEDAN research group addresses impact oriented research activities in the areas of security, service management and monitoring.
The group is particularly interested in designing architectures, algorithms and approaches in the context of the new challenges given by ever increasing volumes of data, multiple and permanent connectivity, and new distributed consensus systems based on blockchain paradigms. The group’s main research activities touch on the areas of cloud orchestration, monitoring and management, data analytics for security and performance monitoring, Blockchain, Machine Learning, Network Function Virtualization, Network and System Security, as well as Real Time Communications.
State’s research focus is grounded in network security and network management, large scale security monitoring, VoIP security, fuzz-testing, and adaptive security mechanisms. State holds two MSc’s in Engineering and Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University, USA, and the University of Bucharest, Romania, respectively. He obtained his Habilitation from the University Nancy, France in 2010, after completing a PhD in computer science at INRIA, also in Nancy, France.
