Prof. Dr. Gabriele Lenzini, Head of the Interdisciplinary Research group in Sociotechnical Cybersecurity (IRiSC) at SnT, University of Luxembourg

Prof. Dr. Gabriele Lenzini joined the Interdisciplinary Center for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) at the University of Luxembourg in 2010. Today as the head of IRiSC research group he is focused on the overlap between digital communications and protocols and the human and legal reality they are deployed in.

IRiSC’s research recognises the important role of design and analysis of secure systems, and considers both the technical, social, and legal frameworks that impact security. The group works in a number of areas, including human-centered cybersecurity, usability security and user experience, cyber-attacks and -defenses, information and system security, data protection and legal compliance, as well as ethics and human rights.
Lenzini’s expertise is founded in modelling, analysis, and design of secure and trustworthy systems. He completed his PhD in Computer Science at the University of Twente, The Netherlands, and holds two MSc’s, respectively in Computer Science and in Information Technologies both from the University of Pisa, Italy. He has worked at the University of Pisa, the Italian National Council of Research (CNR) in Italy, the University of Twente, and at Telematica Institute in the Netherlands. He participated in the development and execution of numerous national and international projects, most of them with a strong industrial participation.
