Brett King: the King of Disruptors
Brett King, know as the “King of Disruptors” is a world-renowned expert on all topics associated with the future of banks and businesses. He advised the Obama administration but also the most influential CEOs on FinTech policy and the future of banking. King hosts the first radio show about FinTech and gathers over 3.6 million listeners from more than 140 countries.
According to King a bank is no longer a place that you go and rather a thing that you do. By extrapolation in 2030, two million citizens will be using day-to-day banking services, independently of banks. Consequently, they will be able to survive in the world using non-bank financial capabilities delivered through technologies. Banks would not be what they are now; they would become secondary institutions.
King estimates the future of banking will not be about payments anymore, but what they offer to the client and the commercial in a certain context. He suggests rethinking the user experience in its entirety.
Named “King of the Disruptors” by Banking Exchange magazine, King was voted as “American Banker’s Innovator of the Year 2012” and the world’s #1 Financial Services Influencer by The Financial Brand. He is the CEO and Founder of Moven, a successful mobile start-up, which has raised over US$24 million to date, with the world's first mobile, downloadable bank account.
