Deputy Mayor of People’s Government of Haidian District, Beijing Municipality,China, and Acting Director of Zhongguancun Haidian Science Park. Mr. Gao graduated from the Department of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, China Agricultural University. He is a senior water engineer. Before his leadership in hi-tech park management, he held the position of deputy director of Haidian Water Conservancy Bureau and several other leading roles in the Haidian District of Beijing, a region with a population of 3.71 million.
The Haidian Science Park under his leadership, known as “China Silicon Valley”, is now home of 468 listed companies, and 6157 national high-tech enterprises, amounting to 1/10 of the total in China. The vision of the Chinese Government is to develop the Park to be one of the most influential global high-tech innovation centers by 2020. The Park is home for Lenovo, Baidu, SAP and other leading technology businesses which are establishing a global presence from the Park. Microsoft, Oracle, IBM and other world leaders build up their R&D centers there, making innovation and entrepreneurship the most distinctive characteristic of the Park.
The Park has an important Memorandum of Understanding with KPMG Luxembourg last September that was seeking KPMG’s help to support the resident high-tech enterprises in the Haidian Science Park on their journey to internationalization
